Heading Home

We were just about ready to board our flight in Cape Town when they announced that our flight was delayed because the runway was closed in Johannesburg. That threw us into a bit of a panic because we only had a 1.5 hour layover in Johannesburg.  They didn’t know how long the delay would be but suddenly they were loading us up.  When we go to Johannesburg we had a LONG fast walk to go through security and get to our gate!  They radioed ahead from security to tell them we were on our way.  There was no stopping at the washroom for us!  We got on the plane and away we went, only about 10 minutes late!
The plane wasn’t full so we all had a little extra elbow room.  Most of us got some sleep during the 15.5 hour flight.  We arrived in New York at 6:30 am.  We had a day room at a nearby hotel so that was nice.  It was too cold and windy to consider making the effort to go into Manhattan.  We all enjoyed the chance to rest and shower before continuing on.
Barry and Bernadette were scheduled to fly through to Toronto and on to Edmonton but their flight to Toronto got cancelled due to the winter storm so they ended up on our flight to Calgary and then on to Edmonton.
We landed at 1:00 in Saskatoon, everyone was ready for bed! We have some wonderful memories. Thanks for following!
