Happy Valentines Day! ❤️
How amazing to spend Valentines Day in Zimbabwe! Fours years ago on this day we were kissing giraffes in Kenya!!
Today was a free day for us. Ron, Roy and Carl departed early morning to go fishing on the Zambezi River. When I asked Roy how it went, his response was “it was more of a fishing day than a catching day!” They did manage to catch a couple of small fish and got to see hippos and crocodiles.
Eleven people went on a helicopter ride over the falls and they said it was wonderful. We did that flight 10 years ago and really enjoyed it.
It was nice to have the day to relax at the pool or sitting somewhere around the resort. It is rare to have a quiet day like this on a tour. Tomorrow we will hit the ground running as we head off to begin our safaris!

We regrouped at 3:30 to head to the river for our sunset cruise. We had a lovely 3 hour cruise on the Zambezi River, the oldest river in the world! We had unlimited drinks and some appetizers. We saw lots of hippos in the water, two crocodiles on the shore as well as storks and egrets and numerous other birds. We sailed back home into the setting sun, absolutely spectacular! Certainly a Valentines Day to remember! When we got back to our rooms we were surprised with chocolates and roses on the bed! ❤️
We went to the restaurant for dinner and they had the dining room looking lovely with red napkins. They had a DJ playing love songs. A few of us got up to dance and a little while later they came and presented Barry and Bernadette with a bottle of champagne! They were nice enough to share it with all of us! 😊. There was also some more traditional African singers and dancers. A lovely evening!
